That's the question consuming my mind since Russian dictator Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine.

And I don't see any respond.

Oh, I hear lots of talk.

Boris Johnson, desperate to restore his shattered reputation as the partygate scandal yet rages, is giving it the full Churchillian rhetoric and demanding: "Diplomatically, politically, economically — and eventually, militarily — this hideous and barbarian venture of Vladimir Putin must end in failure."

Fine words, Prime Minister — just how, exactly, do you intend to make him fail?

Your current strategy of financially clobbering a few Kremlin-backed oligarchs, some of whose dodgy cash slithered its mode into your own Conservative Party pockets, isn't going to make Putin lose a second's sleep.

French President Emmanuel Macron, humiliated past his pointless and deluded attempts at affairs, is feeling betrayed by Putin's duplicity in their conversations (a former KGB officer lied? Wow, I'm shocked!) and has ordered Russia to "immediately put an end to its military operations".

Why would it do that? Putin'south doing what he'south wanted to do, and planned to practice, for years.

Germany's new Vice-Chancellor, Robert Habeck, huffed and puffed and warned Russia would have "astringent political and economical consequences".

Like what, exactly?

His state'south grown and so dependent on Russian energy that it can't afford to do anything meaningful for fearfulness of Putin literally turning their lights out.

In fact, I doubtable all the collective warnings from these European politicians will have as much impact as the absurd contribution from the Knuckles and Duchess of Sussex, who announced their irrelevant concern, from the condolement of their Californian mansion, almost "this breach of international and humanitarian constabulary".

Because Vladimir Putin doesn't give a monkey'due south cuss what whatever of them think.

Putin's a bully; a vile, snivelling, mean, ruthless, heartless, humourless, narcissistic not bad.

And he's always been a bully.

The Russian dictator's school gradebook, unearthed a few years agone, revealed that at the age of 11, he "threw chalkboard erasers at the children" before form started.

I recall a bully at ane of my own schools terrorising anybody, including me, for years until my brother, now a British Ground forces colonel, resolved the situation by punching him in the face.

And similar Hitler, he spews vicious apocalyptic threats to scare off any resistance.

"Whoever tries to impede us," he warned before this week, "let lonely create threats for our country and its people, must know that the Russian response will be immediate and lead to the consequences yous have never seen in history."

Russia's economy is currently smaller than that of the state of Texas.
Its military is big but nowhere near every bit big as America's, which has the greatest armed strength in the history of planet World.
